Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Mario Haitz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Niceto Ishmael, 1-0. After having played for 11 minutes, Luciano Quintana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Quintana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hugo Senio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Angel Fortun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Mauro Damario managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Damario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Fortun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute, Mauro Damario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angel Fortun was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 30th minute, Mauro Damario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boca's Mariano Romano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mario Haitz, made in the 44th minute of the game. The supporters of Boca booed when Anchorena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Luciano Quintana made the kick off in the second half. Leandro Aznar's late challenge caught a Anchorena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leandro Aznar helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes Boca got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Aznar. Luciano Quintana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Angel Fortun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Mario Haitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Angel Fortun managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Boca's Luciano Quintana fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Anchorena's zone, Luciano Quintana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angel Fortun came out of the goal and Luciano Quintana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Mauro Damario managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Damario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Fortun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Haitz in the 85th minute of play forced Boca's goalkeeper Niceto Ishmael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anibal Quexal hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Mauro Damario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
