To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, West Ham United's goalkeeper Severino Mendebal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Federico Brais. Juan Hotz's late challenge caught a Los Halcones FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Hotz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Juan Hotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the game, Gaspar Caradaro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Severino Mendebal. Gaspar Caradaro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Severino Mendebal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Federico Brais in the 39th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Bastiaro to make the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnoldo Francesco took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dalmacio Enetz. Dalmacio Enetz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Severino Mendebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Markel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Halcones FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing West Ham United to leave the ground with a draw.
