Geronimo Pudes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Herena, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Abel Herena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Abel Herena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geronimo Pudes. Fredriksson AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abel Herena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 47th minute, Fredriksson AFC's Honorio Hanot dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteban Txatxu to make the kick off. The supporters of Fredriksson AFC booed when deportivo castello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislao Pirmin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
