Haroldo Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Koldobika having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Egun in the 26th minute of play forced Barcala's goalkeeper Jesus Koldobika to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes, Romeo Figueroa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barcala and the Bernasconi AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jesus Koldobika was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lino Estevez to make the kick off. The supporters of Barcala booed when Bernasconi AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Eufrasio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Timoteo Esdras sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Urbano Chaime skillfully saved the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Barcala's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Estevez came free, but Jesus Koldobika reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lino Estevez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the game, Bernasconi AFC's Sergio Egun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. A collision led to Bernasconi AFC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Nicanor Gipuzkoa hit a great ball. After 97 played minutes, Barcala's Jacinto Truylos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Urbano Chaime came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barcala reached it.
