Arsenio Sesuldo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arsenio Sesuldo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mauricio Quinito went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Eduardo Maule fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsenio Sesuldo having to interfere. Domingos Jaizki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulises Cordarin, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Aureliano Joey kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Eduardo Maule sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Ulises Cordarin made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Eduardo Maule managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Otto y Cata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Maule was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ulises Cordarin came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the C.A River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulises Cordarin couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute, Prudencio Celio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Otto y Cata eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
