Delmar Gabon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Geleberto having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in A. A. Iron Maiden's zone, Nestor Amaya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Iyan came out of the goal and Nestor Amaya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nestor Amaya might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Iyan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Amaya ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 17th minute of the match Remigio Quiroga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonardo Iyan skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the A. A. Iron Maiden defense, Nestor Amaya kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonardo Iyan. The A. A. Iron Maiden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonardo Iyan should have stopped the shot. Leonardo Iyan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Amaya in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Nestor Amaya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético La Plata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Amaya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nestor Amaya in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonardo Iyan saved A. A. Iron Maiden from getting behind. Leonardo Iyan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Dimo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A. A. Iron Maiden's Leonardo Iyan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Amaya in the 38th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play, Club Atlético La Plata's Jimeno Dimo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonardo Iyan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Prudencio Luken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Iyan having to interfere. Leonardo Iyan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Amaya in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Nestor Amaya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonardo Iyan. A. A. Iron Maiden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nestor Amaya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Israel Jerico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Ernesto Joseph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético La Plata's Anastasio Goren got a free kick in the 61st minute. Delmar Gabon took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leopoldo Geleberto. Leopoldo Geleberto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Leonardo Iyan made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Nestor Amaya sent off a good shot on target. Fernando Jordy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Leonardo Iyan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético La Plata's zone, Ernesto Joseph stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Geleberto came out of the goal and Ernesto Joseph tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Prudencio Luken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Club Atlético La Plata's Nestor Amaya dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6.
