Steve Baumann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elvio Geofredo in the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cardenales RC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emiliano Rios was slow to take the kick. During this time Douglas Haig's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Emiliano Rios almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cardenales RC's Steve Baumann did a great save. Douglas Haig's Simon Berdoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Estevez in the 19th minute of play. Celso Isauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes, Ernesto Donzel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Douglas Haig and the Cardenales RC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Douglas Haig getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ernesto Donzel hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauricio Estevez to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Teobaldo Sanduru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steve Baumann was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cardenales RC's goalkeeper Steve Baumann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fausto Su charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto Su the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Douglas Haig made a substitution. Astor Matai replaced Herminio Elequemedo. After a rather tough play, Cardenales RC's Fausto Su got a free kick in the 58th minute. After 60 minutes, Teobaldo Sanduru made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cardenales RC's Steve Baumann tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Douglas Haig's goalkeeper Simon Berdoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celso Isauro. Mauricio Estevez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Simon Berdoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauricio Estevez in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Berdoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute, Mauricio Estevez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Simon Berdoi, passed just outside the right post. Celso Isauro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Berdoi having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Guillermo Quico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the game, Teobaldo Sanduru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Steve Baumann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steve Baumann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobaldo Sanduru, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th match minute, Cardenales RC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albino Tartalo to maneuver through the defense. Astor Matai hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. A hard shot 92 in the game by Celso Isauro from a close distance when the talented Simon Berdoi managed to make a qualified save. Douglas Haig's players were relieved. Mauricio Estevez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Douglas Haig booed when Cardenales RC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Jerico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Haig's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
