Efrain Arlo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Simon Berdoi made a huge save. If Teobaldo Sanduru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Emiliano Rios left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Douglas Haig fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 44th minute of the match Ernesto Donzel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Florencio Lico skillfully saved the ball. Teobaldo Sanduru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Florencio Lico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 79th minute of the match, Teobaldo Sanduru got a very nice opportunity to score, but Florencio Lico was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Florencio Lico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Cacharí getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Efrain Arlo hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Douglas Haig's Teobaldo Sanduru ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Florencio Lico. Florencio Lico yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. After having played for 94 minutes, Emiliano Rios managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the final whistle sounded Douglas Haig left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cacharí.
