In the 35th minute Remigio Bero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Gartzea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente FC's zone, Silverio Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Gartzea came out of the goal and Silverio Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Stanislao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Tabor having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Felix Balasi made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente FC's goalkeeper Silvio Gartzea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Silverio Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tortugas's supporters rose to their feet, but Silverio Romero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvio Gartzea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Silverio Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. Zeledon Tabor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Balasi in the 77th minute of the match. Zeledon Tabor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Balasi in the 79th minute of play. Remigio Bero charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remigio Bero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Tortugas getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Remigio Bero hit a great ball. Tortugas's Zeledon Tabor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Balasi in the 83rd minute of play.
