Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Atilano Bertran started the match with the kick off. Ildefonso Lapurdi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Bertran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Volcán's goalkeeper Ildefonso Lapurdi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Volcán's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Bertran came free, but Ildefonso Lapurdi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mascasín booed when Volcán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Pelagius didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Mascasín's Evelio Poz got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Freddy Hechter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Pelagius in the 31st minute of play forced Mascasín's goalkeeper Ismael Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mascasín's zone, Enzo Pelagius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Reyes came out of the goal and Enzo Pelagius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddy Hechter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Reyes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Ismael Reyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Pelagius in the 43rd minute of the match. Atilano Bertran was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Mascasín's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enzo Pelagius was the one to do the kick off. Abel Abilio hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Mascasín's Ismael Reyes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Pelagius in the 60th minute of play. Atilano Bertran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ildefonso Lapurdi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genaro Eufrasio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ildefonso Lapurdi having to make a save. Atilano Bertran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicanor Abar's late challenge caught a Mascasín's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicanor Abar helped the player get up and apologised. Nicanor Abar hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Freddy Hechter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Reyes having to interfere. Mascasín's Ismael Reyes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Abilio in the 86th minute of play. If Freddy Hechter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Volcán's Enzo Pelagius dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Nereo Iago charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nereo Iago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Mascasín supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Volcán's performance. The match ended with a win for Volcán.
