When Samet Gökçek came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Castellino City Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samet Gökçek couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Pupus FC's zone, Arnaldo Remir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabian Telesforo came out of the goal and Arnaldo Remir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the game, Pupus FC's Anacleto Matxin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodrigo Arias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samet Gökçek in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabian Telesforo saved Pupus FC from getting behind. If Arnaldo Remir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Remir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Samet Gökçek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabian Telesforo was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After the first half Pupus FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
