Venancio Eyague started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Pedro Pio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Feliciano Qwinton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Amadeo Raymon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Circulo de Brujas's supporters rose to their feet, but Amadeo Raymon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fidel Milian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto Goyo charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto Goyo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Racing Club de Avellaneda getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Fausto Goyo hit a great ball. Fidel Milian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Eyague, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Circulo de Brujas's goalkeeper Feliciano Qwinton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Amadeo Raymon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venancio Eyague struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Fidel Milian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Circulo de Brujas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Pio in the 34th minute of play forced Circulo de Brujas's goalkeeper Feliciano Qwinton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Pio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvano Loramendi's late challenge caught a Circulo de Brujas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvano Loramendi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Circulo de Brujas booed when Racing Club de Avellaneda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Loramendi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amadeo Raymon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fidel Milian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 50th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Urbano Azevedo made a kick off. Urbano Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Amadeo Raymon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Circulo de Brujas's supporters rose to their feet, but Amadeo Raymon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fidel Milian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fidel Milian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeo Raymon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Feliciano Qwinton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Azevedo in the 72nd minute of the match. Urbano Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urbano Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Feliciano Qwinton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urbano Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Circulo de Brujas's zone, Urbano Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliciano Qwinton came out of the goal and Urbano Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Pio struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Feliciano Qwinton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club de Avellaneda. Silvio Lope's late challenge caught a Circulo de Brujas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 89th minute Amadeo Raymon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Milian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Milian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Eyague in the 93rd minute of play. Marcos Rameriz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 100th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fidel Milian. Racing Club de Avellaneda's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Racing Club de Avellaneda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Racing Club de Avellaneda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
