An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Seguinus in the 9th minute of play forced Aquilesbeta's goalkeeper Florentino Gonsalve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Armonía FC booed when Aquilesbeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Abadie didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Benicio Leheren put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Emiliano Quinto. If Gonzalo Osoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquilesbeta's Florentino Gonsalve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Seguinus in the 32nd minute of play. When Gonzalo Osoro came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Armonía FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonzalo Osoro couldn't finish the play. Benicio Leheren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emiliano Quinto having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximino Seguinus to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Armonía FC's Gonzalo Osoro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florentino Gonsalve narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Aquilesbeta's zone, Gonzalo Osoro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Gonsalve came out of the goal and Gonzalo Osoro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute Gonzalo Osoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Gonsalve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernan Vachon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiliano Quinto having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delmar Eguerdi during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Armonía FC's Delmar Eguerdi got a free kick in the 75th minute. Florentino Gonsalve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Osoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 83 in the game by Benicio Leheren from a close distance when the talented Emiliano Quinto managed to make a qualified save. Armonía FC's players were relieved. In the 87th match minute, Aquilesbeta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Roland to maneuver through the defense. Bernardino Cambranes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Florentino Gonsalve. Aquilesbeta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Florentino Gonsalve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Osoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Armonía FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Aquilesbeta's performance. The match ended with a win for Aquilesbeta.
