Banfield's Amadeo Laurin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Sesuldo in the 27th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silverio Sesuldo to make the kick off. Amadeo Laurin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Sesuldo in the 63rd minute of the match. Amadeo Laurin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silverio Sesuldo's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Silverio Sesuldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Cerrito's Nemesio Afonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amadeo Laurin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nemesio Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Laurin having to interfere. In the 89th minute Silverio Sesuldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Laurin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Banfield's Benicio Lucian got a free kick in the 89th minute. The audience was convinced that Nemesio Afonso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeo Laurin was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
