The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Coro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Silverio Sesuldo came free, but Federico Feliu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godofredo Turi struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Herminio Roldanillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coro FC. 13 minutes into the match, Cerrito's Nemesio Afonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Federico Feliu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, Cerrito's Ramiro Nisio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Federico Feliu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Federico Feliu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Pelayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godofredo Turi got free with Herminio Roldanillo in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Generoso Ourente charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Generoso Ourente the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Coro FC's Generoso Ourente got a free kick in the 30th minute. Federico Feliu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nemesio Afonso in the 32nd minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Coro FC got a freekick which was hit by Rene Unai. Silverio Sesuldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cerrito's Nemesio Afonso in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Coro FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 39th minute, Silverio Sesuldo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Federico Feliu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nemesio Afonso in the 44th minute of play forced Coro FC's goalkeeper Federico Feliu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Silverio Sesuldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Segundo Sugar was the one to do the kick off. When Generoso Ourente came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Coro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Generoso Ourente couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute, Segundo Sugar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cerrito fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Coro FC a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lisandro Nuñez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cerrito's Herminio Roldanillo. 1-3. 63 minutes into the match, Cerrito's Nemesio Afonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Federico Feliu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Sugar in the 73rd minute of play forced Cerrito's goalkeeper Herminio Roldanillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Federico Feliu made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Nemesio Afonso sent off a good shot on target. Nemesio Afonso took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Federico Feliu. Federico Feliu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 88 minutes into the game, Emilio Fliz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cerrito the free kick. In the 88th minute, Emilio Fliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cerrito had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
