The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 6 minutes, Primitivo Rolado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The supporters of Team Roughnecks booed when Facundo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Jesco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apolo Matthew's late challenge caught a Team Roughnecks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Matthew helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd match minute, Facundo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Matthew to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, Camilo Pirmin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Arnaldo Baumar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Primitivo Rolado in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bartolo Lastur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Higinio Romildo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Higinio Romildo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bartolo Lastur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Higinio Romildo's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melchor Cesario to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Cesario in the 62nd minute of play forced Facundo's goalkeeper Arnaldo Baumar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Team Roughnecks getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Gustavo Cesaro hit a great ball. After having played for 78 minutes, Camilo Pirmin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnaldo Baumar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Team Roughnecks fans cheered their team off the field, for while Facundo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
