Fermin Naelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Igon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Conrado Pancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aquiles Stanislao was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The supporters of Chiefs booed when Atletico Lamadrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Tauro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Chiefs's Hugo Malvin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aquiles Stanislao narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fermin Naelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimeno Igon in the 30th minute of the match. Aquiles Stanislao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Pancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. If Jimeno Igon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Conrado Pancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquiles Stanislao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Marciano Cerilo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Chiefs's Fermin Naelio. Fermin Naelio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 47 minutes into the match, Jimeno Igon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fermin Naelio, 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jimeno Igon to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Chiefs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacobo Frances to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Chiefs's zone, Jimeno Igon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fermin Naelio came out of the goal and Jimeno Igon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Chiefs's Conrado Pancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aquiles Stanislao. That made the score 2-2 after 64 minutes of play. Hugo Malvin might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquiles Stanislao. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hugo Malvin ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Lamadrid's zone, Hugo Malvin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquiles Stanislao came out of the goal and Hugo Malvin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 played minutes Chiefs got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Sansone. Aquiles Stanislao made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Hugo Malvin sent off a good shot on target. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
