After a defensive mix-up in Varices FC's zone, Octavio Unax stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Senio came out of the goal and Octavio Unax tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulises Senio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gogo Stanislao in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gogo Stanislao in the 10th minute of play forced Varices FC's goalkeeper Ulises Senio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gogo Stanislao received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ulises Senio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Gogo Stanislao made a precise shot to the right of Ulises Senio. Varices FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 18 minutes, Ramon Goito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Varices FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Ramon Goito got a free kick in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Leonides Katia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eugenio Navarro. Aldo Ado hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Gogo Stanislao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulises Senio was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Varices FC's Ulises Senio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Stanislao in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Gogo Stanislao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Eugenio Navarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Varices FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Bertran didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Gogo Stanislao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Senio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulises Senio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nunez Gelmiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gogo Stanislao made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, River Plate's Gogo Stanislao dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nunez Gelmiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Nunez Gelmiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Senio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Gogo Stanislao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ulises Senio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ulises Senio came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Gogo Stanislao. But to his dismay, Gogo Stanislao quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 65th minute, Varices FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gogo Stanislao fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Octavio Unax received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ulises Senio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gogo Stanislao came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Stanislao couldn't finish the play. Octavio Unax sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gogo Stanislao received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ulises Senio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Enaut hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Octavio Unax hit a great ball. In the 88th minute Lino Lore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Katia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 92nd minute of the match Ramon Goito completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ramon Goito a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ramon Goito kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Leonides Katia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Navarro, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Varices FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
