Atilano Oalo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atilano Oalo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Oriche in the 15th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Remigio Conrao got free with Conrado Eguerdi in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Conrado Eguerdi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Navarro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 minutes of play, Libertad AFC's Remigio Conrao made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conrado Eguerdi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacinto Oriche's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Atilano Oalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Atilano Oalo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Kismi, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Esteban Kismi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Conrado Eguerdi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Celestino Navarro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 40 minute of play. Feliciano Maidana hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteban Kismi to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Kismi in the 62nd minute of play forced Libertad AFC's goalkeeper Atilano Oalo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cornelio Illart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esteban Kismi in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Atilano Oalo saved Libertad AFC from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Jacinto Oriche got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jacinto Oriche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacinto Oriche blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Atilano Oalo having to make a save. Jacinto Oriche could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Atilano Oalo made a huge save.
