The supporters of El 9 de julio booed when CASTELAR FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Acuña didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ruperto Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to El 9 de julio getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Haroldo Oihenarte hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, CASTELAR FC's Carolo Cordarrel got a free kick in the 30th minute. Severo Tello was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Braulio Sugar came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the El 9 de julio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braulio Sugar couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in CASTELAR FC's zone, Braulio Sugar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Xabel came out of the goal and Braulio Sugar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute Gogo Rainerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Txordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruperto Xabel was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Braulio Sugar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Braulio Sugar really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gogo Rainerio made the kick off in the second half. Ruperto Xabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th match minute, El 9 de julio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Oihenarte to maneuver through the defense. Felipe Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ruperto Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, El 9 de julio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Oihenarte to maneuver through the defense. After 66 played minutes El 9 de julio got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Oihenarte. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gogo Rainerio in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bonifacio Txordon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Sugar in the 76th minute of play forced CASTELAR FC's goalkeeper Ruperto Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Braulio Sugar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haroldo Oihenarte hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Gogo Rainerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bonifacio Txordon having to interfere. Gogo Rainerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A hard shot by Teodoro Fernandez from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Bonifacio Txordon's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Braulio Sugar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Ruperto Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the El 9 de julio players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
