Pichanas AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmacio Hodei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelio Checa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the game, Dalmacio Hodei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Pichanas AFC's Dalmacio Hodei got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cornelio Checa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmacio Hodei, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute Adrian Tonete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Checa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dalmacio Hodei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Narciso Favila was the one to do the kick off.
