When Nereo Frantzes came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Philipps AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Frantzes couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Romulo Casado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute of the match Clemente Eron sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ezequiel Loreto skillfully saved the ball. Arnoldo Pitin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. Philipps AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pastor Fernendo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee ignored Nuevo Atletismo Argentino's protests and gave Pastor Fernendo a yellow card for diving instead. Pastor Fernendo kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes in the game, Nereo Frantzes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Froilan Erdiano having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Nuevo Atletismo Argentino's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vicente Sansone fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 78 minutes, Clemente Eron mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nuevo Atletismo Argentino and the Philipps AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
