Lino Mero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Dimo in the 7th minute of the match. Rene Truylos kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When Teo Unax came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Villa San Carlos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Unax couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa San Carlos's goalkeeper Luisito Nastasio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lucio Duarte hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. If Efrain Dimo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Teo Unax shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Mero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Asteri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the match, Saladillo FC's Ricardo Asteri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisito Nastasio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saladillo FC's Lino Mero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efrain Dimo in the 44th minute of play. In the 48th minute Ricardo Asteri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Nastasio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Ricardo Asteri made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Saladillo FC's zone, Teo Unax stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Mero came out of the goal and Teo Unax tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 56 minutes into the game, Gilberto Arixo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Luisito Nastasio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 60 played minutes Villa San Carlos got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Sugar. In the 62nd minute, Ricardo Asteri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Asteri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teo Unax blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lino Mero having to make a save. Luisito Nastasio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Arixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Saladillo FC booed when Villa San Carlos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Sugar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Clodoveo Larpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lino Mero made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Teo Unax sent off a good shot on target. 86 minutes into the match, Villa San Carlos's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Asteri came free, but Luisito Nastasio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 88 played minutes Saladillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Ulises Camerino. After having played for 90 minutes, Alberto Ugaitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa San Carlos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Ugaitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Asteri in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luisito Nastasio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Efrain Dimo in the 95th minute of play forced Saladillo FC's goalkeeper Lino Mero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gilberto Arixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Villa San Carlos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
