Recreo's supporters rose to their feet, but Fermin Artal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nereo Bermund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fermin Artal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Nereo Bermund made a huge save. In the 31st minute, Angel Elodio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Elodio couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teobaldo Pacho in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eulalio Nabar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Real Betis Balompié players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
