Elias Modestio came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Faustino Cambranes could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Belo in the 14th minute of play forced La Marea Roja's goalkeeper Faustino Cambranes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Christian Cesaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efrain Kaxen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Caetano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Caetano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efrain Kaxen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Anselmo Caetano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Anselmo Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Anselmo Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Marea Roja's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Caetano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Efrain Kaxen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anselmo Caetano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Efrain Kaxen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, La Marea Roja's Aldo Napier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Efrain Kaxen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 48th minute Aldo Napier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Kaxen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anselmo Caetano was the one to do the kick off. When Christian Cesaro came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the La Marea Roja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Cesaro couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute Elias Modestio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Cambranes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, La Marea Roja's Christian Cesaro got a free kick in the 61st minute. With a little luck, Racing Club's Efrain Kaxen got control of the ball when Anselmo Caetano tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Anselmo Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aldo Napier struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. After 90 played minutes La Marea Roja got a freekick which was hit by Serafin Gaur. Ceferino Gauargi kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. La Marea Roja played a much better game than Racing Club and deserved their victory. The Racing Club players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
