But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Caetano couldn't finish the play. Aldo Napier might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efrain Rocendo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aldo Napier ran back to his position shaking his head. Anselmo Caetano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Efrain Rocendo made a huge save. In the 28th minute, Arsenio Honrio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Efrain Rocendo made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Anselmo Caetano sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arsenio Honrio in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustino Cambranes saved La Marea Roja from getting behind. Fidel Steven took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Faustino Cambranes. La Marea Roja's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Anselmo Caetano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Efrain Rocendo made a huge save. In the 43rd minute, Arsenio Honrio made a precise shot to the right of Faustino Cambranes. La Marea Roja's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1.
