The audience was convinced that Alfonso Karmel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Argenis was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Jaime Furman's late challenge caught a Gaelicos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Furman helped the player get up and apologised. 16 minutes into the game, one of Cienega AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fernando Txilar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacinto Gilabert hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Feliberto Darien made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacinto Gilabert in the 24th minute. If Jacinto Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Gilabert scored 2-0 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Feliberto Darien, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Feliberto Darien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iker Txurio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jacinto Gilabert came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Gaelicos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Gilabert couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the match, Gaelicos's Iker Txurio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Feliberto Darien narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iker Txurio in the 43rd minute of play forced Cienega AFC's goalkeeper Feliberto Darien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaelicos's Jacinto Gilabert got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Jacinto Gilabert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iker Txurio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Feliberto Darien having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Alfonso Karmel made the kick off in the second half. Feliberto Darien stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Gilabert's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 53rd match minute, Cienega AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urbano Oidor to maneuver through the defense. Cienega AFC's Feliberto Darien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iker Txurio in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Jacinto Gilabert made a precise shot to the right of Feliberto Darien. Cienega AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 62nd minute Jacinto Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliberto Darien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Cienega AFC's Alfonso Karmel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. The Gaelicos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. When the referee ended the match the Gaelicos players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
