Melba's Modesto Etxahun got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iker Txurio in the 7th minute of play forced Melba's goalkeeper Atilano Gines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Jacinto Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Gines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Argenis was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Simon Serapio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Simon Serapio really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Simon Serapio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Argenis having to interfere. Atilano Gines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Gilabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Gilabert in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Atilano Gines saved Melba from getting behind. Atilano Gines took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Ospetsu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match Genaro Salvatore shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Atilano Gines showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jorge Argenis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Serapio in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Gaelicos's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Serapio came free, but Jorge Argenis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iker Txurio to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Casimiro Selmo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaelicos and the Melba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Casimiro Selmo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Eustaquio Lucian, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 56th minute, Jacinto Gilabert made a precise shot to the right of Atilano Gines. Melba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With an all-out effort, Gaelicos's Atilano Gines threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Iker Txurio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Melba's Atilano Gines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iker Txurio in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Gaelicos booed when Melba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Fe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Iker Txurio came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Gaelicos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iker Txurio couldn't finish the play. 73 minutes into the game, one of Melba:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 79th minute, Melba's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jacinto Gilabert fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jacinto Gilabert struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Atilano Gines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaelicos. After 84 played minutes Melba got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Nerio. In the 87th minute, Jacinto Gilabert made a precise shot to the right of Atilano Gines. Melba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 92 minutes into the game, Gaelicos's Jacinto Gilabert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Atilano Gines made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gaelicos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
