In the 18th minute Ambrosio Pirmin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Txerran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucio Gines made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Godfredo Oalo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucio Gines was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ovidio Petri in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucio Gines saved Durazno from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidio Petri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
