If 孔星亮 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Endura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhou Yao Wei in the 41st minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Los Eternos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of La Mano de Dios:s goal. The referee gave La Mano de Dios a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jeronimo Jerico, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Eternos's Celestino Osmundo. 0-1. Los Eternos's Celestino Osmundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Gonsalve in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zhou Yao Wei to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Marcelo Vachon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Osmundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Eternos's Zhou Yao Wei got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Los Eternos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zhou Yao Wei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
