Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teofilo Erauso in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberto Gil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teofilo Erauso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Gil having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Agustin Palban managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riachuelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustin Palban was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Gil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Teofilo Erauso came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Riachuelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teofilo Erauso couldn't finish the play. Placido Osoitz struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Robustiano Playo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salado FC. Robustiano Playo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Senon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Gregorio Senon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Playo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaac Austin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Norberto Gil. Salado FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Angelo Rufio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salado FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Riachuelo the free kick. Agustin Palban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 51st minute, Jesus Iyan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norberto Gil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustin Palban in the 56th minute. After 58 minutes of play Salado FC's Angelo Rufio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. With a little luck, Salado FC's Norberto Gil got control of the ball when Agustin Palban tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Riachuelo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
