The audience was convinced that Herminio Nel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pastor Haimar was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Nemesio Telo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pigüé's supporters rose to their feet, but Nemesio Telo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pastor Haimar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Stayle's zone, Herminio Nel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pastor Haimar came out of the goal and Herminio Nel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Pigüé were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herminio Nel in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pastor Haimar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cipriano Frederico struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Pastor Haimar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pigüé. In the 53rd match minute, Stayle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Haitz to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Gonsalve kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Donato Tancredo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nemesio Telo might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pastor Haimar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nemesio Telo ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 60 minutes, Nemesio Telo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pigüé's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Telo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Herminio Nel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pigüé's supporters rose to their feet, but Herminio Nel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pastor Haimar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pastor Haimar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Nel, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Saul Ignazio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saverio Garcia went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Bernabe Benet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nemesio Telo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Haimar having to interfere. Herminio Nel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pastor Haimar came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Pigüé's Herminio Nel. But to his dismay, Herminio Nel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Stayle's zone, Cipriano Frederico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pastor Haimar came out of the goal and Cipriano Frederico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Herminio Nel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Ongile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Haimar having to interfere. Pigüé played a much better game than Stayle and deserved their victory. The Stayle players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
