Mar de Ajo FC's Julio Lordi got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Efrain Loreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Txaran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Julio Lordi came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Mar de Ajo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Lordi couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebio Errapel in the 34th minute of play forced Lepra Mendocina's goalkeeper Efrain Loreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Apolo Mosen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Apolo Mosen got free with Gogo Gregory in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, Julio Lordi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusebio Errapel made a kick off. Efrain Loreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Txaran in the 54th minute. Apolo Mosen struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Gogo Gregory didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lepra Mendocina. After having played for 64 minutes, Apolo Mosen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lepra Mendocina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Apolo Mosen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gogo Gregory showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Sanchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Gogo Gregory made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Sanchez in the 67th minute of play. The Mar de Ajo FC fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Mar de Ajo FC's Eusebio Errapel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Mar de Ajo FC's Ignacio Salvino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Efrain Loreto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Lepra Mendocina getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Severo Sanchez hit a great ball. Mar de Ajo FC's Gogo Gregory played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apolo Mosen in the 92nd minute of play. Apolo Mosen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th match minute, Mar de Ajo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Ebardo to maneuver through the defense. Apolo Mosen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Gogo Gregory tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mar de Ajo FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
