Eleuterio Pes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Txartiko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Joel Harkaitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Empedrado fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dalmacio Remicio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joel Urki. Escarto FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Pastor Maldonado came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Empedrado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pastor Maldonado couldn't finish the play. Filiberto Txartiko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Eleuterio Pes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Joel Harkaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filiberto Txartiko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Augusto Izel kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Jose Macario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Txartiko in the 59th minute of play forced Empedrado's goalkeeper Eleuterio Pes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 minutes, Teobaldo Madaleno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Escarto FC and the Empedrado players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Maldonado got free with Joel Urki in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Urbano Maurino kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Escarto FC's Dionisio Gasteiz got a free kick in the 78th minute. Pastor Maldonado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Urki having to interfere. Augusto Izel charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Izel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Escarto FC booed when Empedrado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Izel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filiberto Txartiko struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Eleuterio Pes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escarto FC. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Empedrado! 94 minutes into the match, Escarto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Harkaitz came free, but Joel Urki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pastor Maldonado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
