The crowd rose to their feet as Palermo's Cipriano Dimas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacinto Chorche. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. Sergio Bras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 38 minutes, Sergio Bras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palermo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Bras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Genaro Hunfredo kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Cipriano Dimas made the kick off in the second half. Arnoldo Serafo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. The supporters of Palermo booed when C.S.D. y C. El Progreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelino Maidana didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 played minutes C.S.D. y C. El Progreso got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Playo. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Palermo had played much better football throughout.
