Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arnoldo Turi took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Dantel got free with Roque Bras in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wilfredo Bieito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iker Iaki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 8 minutes, Arsenio Eufrasio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saavedra and the Palmira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Arsenio Eufrasio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th match minute, Saavedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Batista to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Bieito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iker Iaki in the 10th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iker Iaki in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilfredo Bieito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iker Iaki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wilfredo Bieito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Saavedra got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Obeko. Iker Iaki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Arnoldo Turi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roque Bras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Saavedra defense, Iker Iaki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilfredo Bieito. The Saavedra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilfredo Bieito should have stopped the shot. Juan Barea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilfredo Bieito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Oxel in the 42nd minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Iker Iaki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iker Iaki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Barea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Saavedra's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Barea came free, but Wilfredo Bieito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Palmira were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iker Iaki made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Saavedra's zone, Juan Barea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Bieito came out of the goal and Juan Barea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luciano Dantel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Bras having to interfere. Saavedra's Wilfredo Bieito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Saavedra from getting a goal against them. Roque Bras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Turi in the 68th minute of play. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saavedra's goalkeeper Wilfredo Bieito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Iker Iaki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Wilfredo Bieito managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Palmira's Juan Barea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Wilfredo Bieito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Almendra in the 83rd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Saavedra's goal looked a bit too open when Iker Iaki came free, but Wilfredo Bieito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Saavedra's Jaime Batista got a free kick in the 85th minute. Juan Barea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Iker Iaki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iker Iaki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilfredo Bieito having to make a save. If Juan Barea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Iker Iaki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmira's supporters rose to their feet, but Iker Iaki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfredo Bieito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 99th match minute, Saavedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Bingen to maneuver through the defense. Palmira's Tomás Quintyn shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 100th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wilfredo Bieito but with some difficulty. The Saavedra fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palmira were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
