The supporters of Palmira booed when Calumnia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Rioja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerardo Xabat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Barea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calumnia FC's Gerardo Xabat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Barea in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Edgard Lleir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calumnia FC the free kick. In the 12th minute, Edgard Lleir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerardo Xabat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Medina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Calumnia FC's Pascual Orain got a free kick in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Calumnia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iker Iaki came free, but Gerardo Xabat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Palmira's Cristian Medina got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Gerardo Xabat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iker Iaki in the 35th minute of the match. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmira's goalkeeper Roque Bras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Jeronimo Raitin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calumnia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeronimo Raitin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roque Bras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Aristides Soin kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Palmira's Edgard Lleir got a free kick in the 57th minute. Iker Iaki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 65 in the game by Juan Barea from a close distance when the talented Gerardo Xabat managed to make a qualified save. Calumnia FC's players were relieved. Emilio Quin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerardo Xabat made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Juan Barea sent off a good shot on target. After 75 minutes Calumnia FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomás Quintyn who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Tomás Quintyn almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Calumnia FC's Gerardo Xabat did a great save. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Rolando Henrico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roque Bras. Palmira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolando Henrico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Calumnia FC's zone, Iker Iaki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Xabat came out of the goal and Iker Iaki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the match, Juan Barea notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Calumnia FC's Gerardo Xabat. Gerardo Xabat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Calumnia FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Palmira to leave the ground with a draw.
