The referee ignored Velez sarsfield's protests and gave Zeledon Lawrence a yellow card for diving instead. Zeledon Lawrence hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The Club Morlaco players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Velez sarsfield were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Adrian Lorencio made the kick off in the second half. In the 64th minute, Primitivo Eladio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marciano Uhin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Erubiel Gartxot. After 78 played minutes, Club Morlaco's Augusto Arias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilfredo Ayala came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Morlaco reached it. Zeledon Lawrence was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 81 played minutes Velez sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Abeijon. After a rather tough play, Velez sarsfield's Amado Goizeder got a free kick in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Adrian Lorencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Morlaco's supporters rose to their feet, but Adrian Lorencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfredo Ayala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
