The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ardiles's Ambrosio Erramun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Ardiles from getting a goal against them. Tomas Polentzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambrosio Erramun having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Ardiles's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Gonzales came free, but Ambrosio Erramun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ambrosio Erramun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Polentzi in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes, Aristides Telo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ardiles and the FC Langfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Polentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ambrosio Erramun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Langfield's Bonifacio Gonzales slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ambrosio Erramun. That made the score 1-1 after 32 minutes of play. Ambrosio Erramun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Gonzales, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Bonifacio Gonzales came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the FC Langfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifacio Gonzales couldn't finish the play. After 43 played minutes Ardiles got a freekick which was hit by Niceto Naldo. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ardiles's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rafael Gipuzkoa was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Langfield's players had a chance to rest. The corner led FC Langfield's Rafael Gipuzkoa to fire away a dangerous shot which Ambrosio Erramun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Gonzales in the 47th minute of play forced Ardiles's goalkeeper Ambrosio Erramun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Bonifacio Gonzales made the kick off in the second half. If Tomas Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Ambrosio Erramun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Polentzi in the 63rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fermin Etxatxu during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 64 played minutes Ardiles got a freekick which was hit by Fermin Etxatxu. In the 67th minute, Esteve Urtsua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 69 minutes, Tomas Polentzi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Langfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Polentzi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of FC Langfield booed when Ardiles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Naldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bonifacio Gonzales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. FC Langfield's Raimundo Jerrold got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th match minute, FC Langfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Jerrold to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Marino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel James, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Ambrosio Erramun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Polentzi in the 81st minute of play. Tomas Polentzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambrosio Erramun having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Ardiles's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Gonzales came free, but Ambrosio Erramun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Urritz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ardiles's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
