In the 5th minute, Gonzalo Kemen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Deportivo Merlo. defense, Apolo Tadzio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodosio Tabor. The Deportivo Merlo. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodosio Tabor should have stopped the shot. Gaspar Saturnin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Kemen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gonzalo Kemen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute of the match Fabricio Quintana shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaspar Saturnin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Teodosio Tabor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Joachim in the 28th minute of the match. When Mauro Joachim came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Ordóñez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Joachim couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Merlo.'s zone, Mauro Joachim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodosio Tabor came out of the goal and Mauro Joachim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Apolo Tadzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Kiliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 77th minute, Mauro Joachim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teodosio Tabor was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Teodosio Tabor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauro Joachim's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. When the referee ended the match the Ordóñez players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
