Elpidio Mano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Turi in the 3rd minute of play. Silverio Rito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustino Costante having to interfere. After some careless play in the San Lorenzo defense, Gaspar Olando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elpidio Mano. The San Lorenzo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elpidio Mano should have stopped the shot. If Paolo Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, SANTA PAOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Silverio Rito came free, but Faustino Costante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silverio Rito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Faustino Costante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Txaran. After recieving a nice pass, SANTA PAOLA's Melquiades Bernat tried to score from far away in the 22nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Gaspar Olando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomiro Turi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute Silverio Rito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Costante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino Costante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Venerando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustino Costante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Rito in the 38th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes, San Lorenzo's Guillermo Eneko shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Faustino Costante came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Lorenzo reached it.

57 minutes into the game, one of SANTA PAOLA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave San Lorenzo a penalty, 59 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugo Gelmiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SANTA PAOLA's Faustino Costante. 1-1. Baldomiro Turi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 70 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Txaran. When Baldomiro Turi fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SANTA PAOLA's protests and gave Baldomiro Turi a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 74 minutes, Silverio Rito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Rito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Paolo Venerando managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lorenzo's supporters rose to their feet, but Paolo Venerando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faustino Costante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, SANTA PAOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Paolo Venerando came free, but Faustino Costante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silverio Rito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
