Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Velez Sarsfield's Ermegildo Santo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zeledon Milio was a little too slow when Ermegildo Santo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 11 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Urbes. If Ermegildo Santo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Ermegildo Santo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zeledon Milio, 2-0. Quilmes A.C's Zeledon Milio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermegildo Santo in the 32nd minute of play. Humberto Urbes hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Martin Ongile struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Amado Bernal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quilmes A.C.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Ongile to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Urbes. Damaso Maiorga's late challenge caught a Quilmes A.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damaso Maiorga helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Damaso Maiorga got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Santiago Tomi, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ermegildo Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Zeledon Milio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Urko kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Fernan Fonda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Ermegildo Santo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ermegildo Santo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Milio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Eloy Vermudo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Velez Sarsfield's Amado Bernal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Velez Sarsfield from getting a goal against them. Fernan Fonda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeledon Milio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Jorge Urko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the match, Quilmes A.C's goal looked a bit too open when Fernan Fonda came free, but Zeledon Milio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Milio came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Velez Sarsfield's Fernan Fonda. But to his dismay, Fernan Fonda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Velez Sarsfield's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
