Ermegildo Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Candido Boniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Ermegildo Santo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Boniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fernan Fonda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Urbes during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th minute, Humberto Urbes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45thth minute of the game Ermegildo Santo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Formosa Premium's Candido Boniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Paulo Moise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Fernan Fonda came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Velez Sarsfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernan Fonda couldn't finish the play. Velez Sarsfield's Amado Bernal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Carlomagno in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Fernan Fonda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Candido Boniel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 86th play minutes Fernan Fonda shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Candido Boniel and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Formosa Premium's goalkeeper Candido Boniel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fernan Fonda's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Candido Boniel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the match was over Velez Sarsfield could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Formosa Premium throughout the match.
