Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Hermelando in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Mitxaut prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Everardo Rosio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 25 minutes, Everardo Rosio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarragona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Everardo Rosio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Iyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes, Oscar Quexal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tarragona FC and the FABRIBOCA JRS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FABRIBOCA JRS booed when Tarragona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Quexal didn't get a good kick on the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mateo Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Aaron Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Abreu in the 96th minute of play forced Tarragona FC's goalkeeper Aaron Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FABRIBOCA JRS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tarragona FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Tarragona FC.
