Melquiades Orlondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Hermelando, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Leonel Hermelando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Orlondo having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, fortinfc's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Abeitia came free, but Melquiades Orlondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melquiades Orlondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Sustrai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Everardo Rosio notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of fortinfc's Melquiades Orlondo. Melquiades Orlondo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Melquiades Orlondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Hermelando in the 35th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Everardo Rosio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Orlondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Evelio Vela fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored fortinfc's protests and gave Evelio Vela a yellow card for diving instead. Evelio Vela kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the fortinfc defense, Leonel Hermelando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melquiades Orlondo. The fortinfc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melquiades Orlondo should have stopped the shot. Everardo Rosio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Melquiades Orlondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

After having played for 51 minutes, Leonel Hermelando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarragona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Hermelando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Florentino Eneas in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by fortinfc's Osvaldo Ibañez. 59 minutes into the game, Leonel Hermelando recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Melquiades Orlondo. Leonel Hermelando showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Leonel Hermelando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Melquiades Orlondo made a huge save. In the 70th play minute Leonel Hermelando came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Melquiades Orlondo. 0-6. In the 78th minute, Arnoldo Araoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarragona FC's Leonel Hermelando got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tarragona FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
