With a little luck, lf4's Angel Mercurio got control of the ball when Gualterio Cristos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Angel Mercurio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Izotz in the 39th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Miguel Oinaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half lf4 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amado Izotz made a kick off. Angel Mercurio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amado Izotz's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute Amado Izotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Mercurio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 57 minutes, Amado Izotz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
