After having played for 11 minutes, Celso Lucero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gordoneta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Lucero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Montoneros's Timoteo Muc got control of the ball when Celso Lucero tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aristides Rosario during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 played minutes Montoneros got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Rosario. Celso Lucero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Timoteo Muc made a huge save. 23 minutes into the game, one of Gordoneta FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Celso Lucero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Timoteo Muc came out and tried to block the shot, but Celso Lucero slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. In the 33rd minute, Celso Lucero fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Timoteo Muc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Oriche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montoneros's Timoteo Muc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Montoneros from getting a goal against them. Angelino Paz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timoteo Muc having to interfere. Celso Lucero's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Timoteo Muc skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gordoneta FC's Conrado Nel got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Timoteo Muc managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Gordoneta FC's Celso Lucero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute Celso Lucero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Muc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ermegildo Chesus hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Maurinho de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Eyague in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gordoneta FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Maximo Ovando was slow to take the kick. During this time Montoneros's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Maximo Ovando almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gordoneta FC's Maurinho de Lima did a great save. Maurinho de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Rosario in the 62nd minute of the match. Paulo Fidele hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 72 played minutes Gordoneta FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelino Paz. 75 minutes into the game, Nunez Eguntsenti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gordoneta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montoneros the free kick. In the 75th match minute, Gordoneta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nunez Eguntsenti to maneuver through the defense. Maurinho de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Eyague, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Celso Lucero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timoteo Muc was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. 85 minutes into the game, Celso Lucero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Timoteo Muc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89 minutes, Celso Lucero made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side.
