After a rather tough play, Gigante Futbol Club's Ildefonso Karlo got a free kick in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Veto in the 10th minute of play forced Gigante Futbol Club's goalkeeper Tomás Abarca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eulalio Veto took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomás Abarca. Tomás Abarca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gigante Futbol Club's Tomás Abarca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Abancens in the 22nd minute of play. Tomás Abarca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebio Lano in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Gigante Futbol Club getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Amancio Rodriguez hit a great ball. Alvaro Mark came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fernan Garci could save by the left post. Ildefonso Karlo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Melville's Fernan Garci got control of the ball when Amancio Rodriguez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ildefonso Karlo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 46 minutes into the match. Ildefonso Karlo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Tomás Abarca stood somewhat misplaced when Jose Corderun came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 52 minute. Tomás Abarca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eulalio Veto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Melville getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Marcos Bembe hit a great ball. Amancio Rodriguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Fernan Garci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Melville got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Pacorro. When Jesus Belasko fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gigante Futbol Club's protests and gave Jesus Belasko a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amancio Rodriguez in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernan Garci saved Melville from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Melville's Uriel Abancens got a free kick in the 80th minute. After 83 minutes, Cristo Alvarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gigante Futbol Club and the Melville players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Melville booed when Gigante Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Alvarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnaldo Aurre hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Amancio Rodriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernan Garci having to interfere. Melville's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
