The audience was convinced that Godofredo Frutos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albino Selmo was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Ranelagh's Godofredo Frutos got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Godofredo Frutos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ranelagh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 21st minute Godofredo Frutos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Selmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eulalio Aznaro charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eulalio Aznaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ranelagh getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Eduardo Aureo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of El Prado es Boca booed when Ranelagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Aureo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albano Onbera, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ceferino Poncio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godfredo Ortle having to make a save. Aquilino Mikelar might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godfredo Ortle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aquilino Mikelar ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Eulalio Aznaro was shown his second yellow card after 54 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
