After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Romulo Menendo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pilcaniyeu's supporters rose to their feet, but Romulo Menendo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romulo Menendo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 60 played minutes Pilcaniyeu got a freekick which was hit by Vladimiro Baladi. Pilcaniyeu's Cosme Elixio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Dimo in the 61st minute of play. Cosme Elixio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Dimo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Cornelio Fraco fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pilcaniyeu's protests and gave Cornelio Fraco a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Wilfredo Jeraldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pilcaniyeu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Jeraldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romulo Menendo succeeded in the game's 79th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. If Wilfredo Jeraldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pilcaniyeu had won after a very even match.
